This Doodkebug Sweetheart collection was 12x12. I thought it unlikely that I would use this particular collection as a scrapbook layout, so I cut it all into 6x6. I made over 40 cards, 37 pictured here. The majority of the dies used are by Queen & Company.<p></p><p>I hope this inspired you to use your old stash!</p><p>Thank you for stopping by! <span style="font-size: large;">I really enjoyed my Simon Says Stamp kit that included Simple Stories "A Colorful Life" papers and stickers. I made loads of pretty cards a couple of years ago from it, but I still had lots of bits and stickers from the kit. I combined them with a smaller print red polka dot from my stash as well as this pale pink stripe paper (Echo Park) and this large yellow polka dot print (I don't recall the manufacturer). Nine very scrappy cards! And there are still more scraps, but my crafty brain is tired :)</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">For a couple of years I received the monthly card kit from Simon Says Stamp. I got lots of use out of the vast majority of the kits; I made 8-16+ cards nearly every month. There were a few kits that I got more out of, and even fewer that I have only made a few cards from.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I was breaking down the leftovers of the well-used kits and I found this one sheet of 6x6 "Hello" paper. I cut it into three 2" strips to get three cards from it. I borrowed a polaroid die from my friend Tracy, and found two bits of camera paper and a flash patterned paper (also from the kit.) I matched some orange and aqua Bazzill Bling card stock, then embossed my sentiments on the polaroid die cuts (Simon Says Stamp "Big Birthday Wishes" and "Happy and Smile".) The balloons are also Simon Says dies. Finally I found one lonely camera sticker from another Simon car kit. Voila!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">If you are following along from the past few weeks, I will have more scrappy cards from leftover bits from a Simon Says card kit for you next Sunday!</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;">A couple of weeks ago I purged and re-arranged my craft room (an annual event.) It allows me to donate or toss anything that no longer brings me joy, but it also inspires me to use up those few things laying around that are too much of a bother to find a home in my newly re-organized space.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I found two linen die cuts (the large scalloped circle on the top left card and the gold chevron flower; top right card). These are left over from a retired Artful Delight kit. I perused my 6x6 papers for a coordinating background, and the cards came together rather quickly. I used Simon Says Stamp "Lake Shores" ink to stamp the sentiment. I love that pad! It matches just about every aqua paper.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The bottom card was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest; these papers are by Basic Grey and/or Echo Park and I used a Papertrey Ink hexagon die.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">If you are following along from my previous post, I have given up on trying to finish up an entire 6x6 pad all at once. I did make a dozen cards from my Cloudburst Watercolor 6x6 pad (four of each card pictured above.) I'm still calling that a win :)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The bottom card is a CASE of a card I saw on Pinterest, but the top two are products of my own creative juices.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I used the W Plus 9 Rose background die for the top two cards and Simon Says Stamp "Happy and Smile" stamp and die for the bottom card. I stamped and embossed a background stamp that I borrowed from my dear friend, Krista.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Happy Sunday! <span style="font-size: large;">A couple of my crafty friends asked me if I knew of <a href="http://eponinekc.blogspot.com/">Kristie Marcotte</a>. I had not, but my friends told me that I reminded them of her because I am known to create cards from itty bitty scraps that normal people would toss in the bin :)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I googled Kristie, and I was inspired by how she successfully demolishes a 6x6 pad in just about one week. She deserves the crown. I dub her Queen of 6x6 stash use!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-size: large; text-align: center;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-size: large; text-align: center;">For the past few years I have been pretty good about not buying more pretty paper pads. Inspired by Kristie's <a href="http://eponinekc.blogspot.com/2014/12/doodlebugs-lovebirds-6x6-cards.html">6x6 pad tutorials</a>, I attempted to use up my BasicGrey Lime Rickey 6x6 pad and coordinating brads.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQihI-eCECAJT8z1WA5JOJ_e_Mscn-qtXfx__ivw3pLwxDdH-h0A27so9XKvEOF-DVnrYn-mKmJnq_pkrM5UP6Ipa-LvUXFXHAiJ4wt5Yw8k7vnHLJmTIVIYIPRmLhOi1EMoELVzH9tuA/s1600/Image-4.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1258" data-original-width="1600" height="313" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjQihI-eCECAJT8z1WA5JOJ_e_Mscn-qtXfx__ivw3pLwxDdH-h0A27so9XKvEOF-DVnrYn-mKmJnq_pkrM5UP6Ipa-LvUXFXHAiJ4wt5Yw8k7vnHLJmTIVIYIPRmLhOi1EMoELVzH9tuA/s400/Image-4.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Here are the first designs I chose (above). I made 10 cards similar to the top left card using the My Favorite Things Snow Drifts Cover up die. I made two blue and two lime green monster cards (4 total), four "what's up?", and four "my dear kind & wonderful friend" (Stampin' Up! sentiment) cards. Those crazy birds are facing every direction, so I chose the Neat and Tangled "what's up?" sentiment. The pink friend card used a 3x3 piece of the pink/orange patterned paper...no scraps!</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4O7_kcGGPB-zDPx3Ys90xy-nEX-HZLc0dpD1TWqry5IvPZoYxepyDsircagUUJzkIXgDwNxev1JgjXp1j_3mHm63l7YME4x4sYIkEygrIeaclWEKFPZcCFh8dDTLwlhlSswVMqakyvRY/s1600/Image-1-1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1165" data-original-width="1600" height="290" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4O7_kcGGPB-zDPx3Ys90xy-nEX-HZLc0dpD1TWqry5IvPZoYxepyDsircagUUJzkIXgDwNxev1JgjXp1j_3mHm63l7YME4x4sYIkEygrIeaclWEKFPZcCFh8dDTLwlhlSswVMqakyvRY/s400/Image-1-1.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">At this point I only had two full sheets of the circle paper (pictured above right), so I came up with a sketch that used some of my Lime Rickey brads. I went through the other stripe of paper and scraps and made the hexagon cards to coordinate with more of the Lime Rickey brads.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGTwgu4MizhkhNTHQYwKkcWL_qziNMz1fiiHKQu3wsgViGO68WXLTcGHvWz69O2x18nAsvXKyaL9Lx3jAFRg7USzw630oakeMFBhleZGvfipM66YomCZ2iCyCH76tC5QLWPGLVmC40Jhw/s1600/Image-3.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGTwgu4MizhkhNTHQYwKkcWL_qziNMz1fiiHKQu3wsgViGO68WXLTcGHvWz69O2x18nAsvXKyaL9Lx3jAFRg7USzw630oakeMFBhleZGvfipM66YomCZ2iCyCH76tC5QLWPGLVmC40Jhw/s400/Image-3.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I had very little of the blues scraps and yellow/green scraps, so I combined some SRM sticker sentiments for the top two cards above, and my My Favorite Things quilt die for the bottom two cards. For the bottom left card I did not have quite enough yellow and green papers for the inner parallelograms, so I had to cover up the white space with the flowers.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBWZKcYULWcPh9xcltHkLojmzNAd9yt-WXUqGEATS2kmr4GSYxvfGrwwLZWMK7mgB5gnL-ixuiZ5Klxq_7rpWOvVsuxj0DU0nFp8wQz_hs_QeSTV75cXGuvZoksINMVmIzkj-Lmt_Vfq8/s1600/Image-2-2.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1302" data-original-width="1600" height="325" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgBWZKcYULWcPh9xcltHkLojmzNAd9yt-WXUqGEATS2kmr4GSYxvfGrwwLZWMK7mgB5gnL-ixuiZ5Klxq_7rpWOvVsuxj0DU0nFp8wQz_hs_QeSTV75cXGuvZoksINMVmIzkj-Lmt_Vfq8/s400/Image-2-2.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">Using My Favorite Things "Monster Love" stamps and dies as well as the "Stitched Triple Peek-A-Boo" die, I created two blue and two green monster cards (above). Then with itty bitty scraps, the happy birthday pennant banner card.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-D_x_2FXPGYjBW9fnEUpan4cFyUdd0Y-6kWzgtzFZuJtg4589PWwNgYLuOTKQVfch8DU5r3vXGGiL7r1GrDxCKLBABVH4DupLL8AxrdnksvDKxMe8zVTaUat17yLJce4Zfa5ThgiApvY/s1600/Image.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1100" data-original-width="1600" height="275" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-D_x_2FXPGYjBW9fnEUpan4cFyUdd0Y-6kWzgtzFZuJtg4589PWwNgYLuOTKQVfch8DU5r3vXGGiL7r1GrDxCKLBABVH4DupLL8AxrdnksvDKxMe8zVTaUat17yLJce4Zfa5ThgiApvY/s400/Image.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Finally, I had just eight brads remaining. I perused my 6x6 papers and found this Cosmo Cricket (left) and Echo Park (right) papers that coordinated with six of the brads. The final two brads went into my brads container.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Here are my last bits...more than the magnificent Kristie would have had, but after five months of looking at these papers and brads on my desk and 38 cards, I'm done! (I had made four cards from this pad years ago, but it had been untouched since then...search "Lime Rickey" in my search tool bar on the top right side of my blog to view.) I don't know how Kristie finishes in about a week, but I bow to her talent!</span></div>

<span style="font-size: large;">I haven't been blogging because my camera is dead. This picture is off of my phone; please forgive my poor photography.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">In my craft room I have a rectangular plastic "basket" that has accumulated unfinished cards, single embellishments, or 12x12 scraps that are the last of a collection. This basket goes ignored for literally months (and sometimes a few years!) Last week I saw <a href="https://poeticartistry.blogspot.com/2018/10/simple-moments.html">Julee</a>'s most recent sketch:</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWsoFZ2Wz4nvQ2tjQyGKQS__fOH1owM5Y1ctsF9VdhaPK8vlZ_oCsExqv1nkc6hQH0LbWa8Z9VToVJ1u5PmwufyHdCGC1NzgB-so3sr9utckQUGUm-etqgeKS-xGR77GYmqONPnGNPKn0/s1600/Mojo501Sketch.gif" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="449" data-original-width="324" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWsoFZ2Wz4nvQ2tjQyGKQS__fOH1owM5Y1ctsF9VdhaPK8vlZ_oCsExqv1nkc6hQH0LbWa8Z9VToVJ1u5PmwufyHdCGC1NzgB-so3sr9utckQUGUm-etqgeKS-xGR77GYmqONPnGNPKn0/s320/Mojo501Sketch.gif" width="230" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">I decided this was the perfect opportunity to peruse the bits in the basket. I found the "HB" chipboard letters I had created from American Crafts paper. In that same basket I found scraps of that same American Crafts collection. My card came together fairly quickly, but my husband commented,"what is 'HB'?" I changed out my circles for balloons, hoping 'happy birthday' seemed more obvious for my "HB".</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;">Thank you, Julee, for the inspiration! It was really rewarding to finally make use of those two chipboard letters :)</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<span style="font-size: large;">This card was created just for my nephew, who was born on July 3rd. He likes to refer to himself as a "Yankee Doodle Dandy boy." He also LOVES knights. I doubt that this card would have come together so quickly if I hadn't just finished purging my craft room and reorganizing my stamp sets; I mixed so many varied supplies. I think because everything I currently own is fresh in my memory that I was able to get this card to come together in less than an hour.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I used a "You are my" die, but cut the 'a' twice to change the phrase to "You are a". The distressed stars background is from a Simon Says Stamp card kit (August 2016), but I used distress oxide inks to make it patriotic.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><u>inks</u>:</b> Ranger "Fired Brick" and "Faded Jeans"; Hero Arts black dye</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><u>card stock</u>:</b> Simon Says Stamp</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><u>dies</u>:</b> PTI "double-ended banner" and "Phrase Play #1" vol.8 no.2; My Favorite Things "Blueprints 24"</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><u>stamps</u>:</b> My Favorite Things "Good Knight"</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><u>Copic markers</u>:</b> C3, C5, and RO8 </span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">I am on a "use it up" kick right now...these papers came from a 12x12 pad of princess-themed papers. I *almost* used up what was left of this collection creating a set of thank you notes (24 in total) for my daughters' princess-themed birthday party.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">There are only two 12x12 sheets left of the original 12x12 pad; they are both of pink hearts, so I filed them with my Love/Valentine-themed papers.</span><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTSjphUaASrAHnchJ-WDx0H34-0GFoHRkH1wpI19xm3-swBT90D2G7_XI8RjGYW5BcR450MWCmVS6R2u1un1h-QcQAenOzB7prv_XK0fzTmmFRluoHhEf5UPUHOJ1xYBx4CN4a1lMgjAM/s1600/DSC_1963.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1065" data-original-width="1600" height="265" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjTSjphUaASrAHnchJ-WDx0H34-0GFoHRkH1wpI19xm3-swBT90D2G7_XI8RjGYW5BcR450MWCmVS6R2u1un1h-QcQAenOzB7prv_XK0fzTmmFRluoHhEf5UPUHOJ1xYBx4CN4a1lMgjAM/s400/DSC_1963.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">My friend made the birthday cakes; Julia wanted a chocolate Cinderella cake and Kathryn wanted a banana Belle cake. Yes, that is a real rose in the center of the Belle cake! The cupcakes have pumpkins or magic wands (Cinderella) and the Belle cupcakes have rosebuds. I found old pictures of the girls in their princess dresses and framed them with frames from the dollar store to add to the party decor.</span><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/">Jingle Belles</a> has an inspiration photo challenge going on right now. Challenges are so much fun, especially when they take you out of your comfort zone with non-traditional colors or in this case, a color I rarely craft with...<span style="color: orange;">ORANGE</span>! Here is the inspiration photo:</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEvmsOEhegSm07J5Z_6kUv3WbT2a4czBxFr9Pw7KLpgFb-YXIcRz0hhjOfLP4_Dp_aspHIF7FreXQGLcbhdzJcnU6pV70QRen48sD_MfW6Nxu3xmKPTyXGU7giocGexnuriBHOubiDlbw/s1600/orange-holiday-living.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="309" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEvmsOEhegSm07J5Z_6kUv3WbT2a4czBxFr9Pw7KLpgFb-YXIcRz0hhjOfLP4_Dp_aspHIF7FreXQGLcbhdzJcnU6pV70QRen48sD_MfW6Nxu3xmKPTyXGU7giocGexnuriBHOubiDlbw/s320/orange-holiday-living.jpg" width="247" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I tried to copy the tree and I also tried to find a background paper similar to the trefoil pillow at the bottom of the photo.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">This is not a card I would ever mass-produce; but it was fun to make and it was a great way to use up scraps. The tree is created from a Martha Stewart branch punch (I punched 68 white branches all from white card stock scraps) and the bows are cut from a My Favorite Things Die-namics Blueprints 26 (from Bazzill scraps). The trefoil paper is by Echo Park. The sentiment is a Lawn Fawn stamp from "Toboggan Together". Lastly, the Fresh Peach ink and pearls are both by Hero Arts.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I like making stuff; especially when it involves using up scraps :)</span>June Houckhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09381237426812322417noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2169036641722287563.post-68107467011688128822018-03-26T16:13:00.001-04:002018-03-26T16:13:07.433-04:00Vintage-y challenge<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXsC2SgJwL6OVGI_9yOn-DyilT_2u1V8GcTj_Wts-UMzQI_ayM4cT4GrdX_NWrgnqz3hcQpZDWjTvNHCWZx_-uW2zM1DN02pPcBAZ1k7uDONS3Bctb87fUhNuqU8t0JHVqxrC15ejPhYo/s1600/MyMindsEyeBeMerryOctoberAfternoonUnderTheTree-JuneHouck.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="795" data-original-width="827" height="382" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhXsC2SgJwL6OVGI_9yOn-DyilT_2u1V8GcTj_Wts-UMzQI_ayM4cT4GrdX_NWrgnqz3hcQpZDWjTvNHCWZx_-uW2zM1DN02pPcBAZ1k7uDONS3Bctb87fUhNuqU8t0JHVqxrC15ejPhYo/s400/MyMindsEyeBeMerryOctoberAfternoonUnderTheTree-JuneHouck.png" width="400" /></a></div>
<span style="font-size: large;">I really enjoy old book stores especially for perusing children's books. The art work from Dick and Jane books or old Little Golden Books (and the like) make my heart happy. Whenever a vintage card challenge arises I always think I should find damaged books at a yard sale and up-cycle the pretty art onto a card...yet I have never done so. I do have a little bit of October Afternoon "Under the Tree" ephemera, like the reindeer on this card, which is similar in style to vintage children's books.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I found a 6x6 sheet of music paper from an old card kit. The music paper is mounted on a 6x6 sheet of snowflake paper by My Mind's Eye "be merry" collection. The reindeer competed too much with the music paper for my liking, so I found a scrap of vellum to glue the reindeer on, which I anchored with an Echo Park "Christmas Cheer" chipboard element (black pennant w/ snowflake). Lastly, m</span><span style="font-size: large;">y sentiment is a rub-on from Creative Imaginations.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">This card is for the "<a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/2018/03/spirit-of-christmas-past.html">Spirit of Christmas Past</a>" challenge at <a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/">Jingle Belles</a>. Thank you, Stef & Lauren for helping me </span><span style="font-size: large;">create a card that is out of my comfort zone; it wouldn't be a challenge if it didn't stretch our creativity. And I have one more card ready for Christmas 2018.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;">The current <a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/">Jingle Belles</a> challenge is to create a card incorporating the <a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/2018/03/hark-herald-angels-sing.html">theme of music</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I have waited until the eleventh hour on this challenge because I wasn't sure what to do, but then I decided to clean up my craft room and as I was putting away a box of </span><span style="font-size: large;">Simon Says Stamp goodies </span><span style="font-size: large;">I spotted this stamp set:</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">Do you make crafty New Year's Resolutions? My 2018 resolution is to "Use It Up." Are you ROTFLOL? I am actually doing quite well so far...even though I probably have enough patterned paper for two lifetimes. So far I have not purchased any new patterned papers, but that does not apply to Simon Says Stamp card stock nor steel dies; especially steel dies :)</span></div>

The card above includes a Carta Bella tag and decorative paper. The two stamps used are "Snowman & Riley" and a Hanna Stamps sentiment. The green base card stock is Bazzill cut from a My Favorite Things Blueprints die. The ribbon is by Stampin' Up! I colored with the following copic markers B41, E19, E21, E33, and R59. I am entering this in the current "A Coloring We Will Go" challenge at <a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/">Jingle Belles</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Below is the card I created for the "Text Me" challenge (the My Mind's Eye papers have subtle text in them. I added a red glitter snowflake from the sale aisle at Michael's; the chipboard reindeer is by Carta Bella. I made this card two weeks ago, knew I had plenty of time to post it, then promptly forgot to post it ;0</span><br />

<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The current challenge at <a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/">Jingle Belles</a> is to have <a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/2018/01/we-three-kings.html">three of a kind</a> on your card; three trees, three stockings, etc. Just like their previous challenge, my card came together in about 30 minutes...I hope this bodes well for the remainder of 2018; I can stare at supplies for hours and not have anything come together. This was easy-peasy.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I used an MFT Die-namics to cut the three circles and edge from both the holly paper and white foam and adhered them together. I cut the base layers from coordinating 6x6 papers, and then placed the flair buttons in the circles. Done. I think I may be using this die quite often in the future :)</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">The current <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/">Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge</a> is "Use Patterned Paper." They are showcasing Doodlebug products, and you know I love me some Doodlebug! My die cut hearts are Doodlebug "Sweet Cakes" papers and the glittery chevron is Doodlebug Sugar Coated card stock.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">My die is "<a href="https://www.simonsaysstamp.com/product/Simon-Says-Stamp-HEART-PARADE-Craft-DIE-s220-63541">Heart Parade</a>" by Simon Says Stamp and my sentiment is an <a href="http://srm-stickers.blogspot.com/">SRM sticker</a>. <span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">These papers and die make my heart happy. <br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">The My Favorite Things Die-namics "Winter Wreath" has been on my wish list for months, but it never came back in stock at MFTstamps.com...fortunately Santa found it at amazon.com. I die cut it four times from Ponderosa Pine linen card stock (XPEDX). It cuts beautifully even without the precision plate! </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">My card practically designed itself; I knew I wanted to use my new wreath die for this first <a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/">Jingle Belles</a> <a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/2018/01/look-what-santa-brought-me.html">challenge</a> of 2018 and for the "Something New" <a href="http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/wednesdaychallenge/simon-says-something-new-3/">Wednesday challenge</a> at Simon Says Stamp, and I created this card from start to finish in about 30 minutes.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">The sentiment is a die by Avery Elle and I cut it and the MFT Winter Wreath bow from gold glitter sticker paper. My "berries" are adhesive sequins by Jillibean Soup. I cut my two base layers using MFT Die-namics Blueprints 20; the base layer is red linen (XPEDX) and I embossed the white card stock layer with Tim Holtz "Bricked."</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;">This summer I went old school with a no layer card...just stamps and ink on a 110lb white card stock base. I created 24 cards in a good 8 hours, using only Hero Arts inks and Hero Arts Poly CLEAR stamps.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><u>inks</u>:</b> charcoal (sentiment); the five inks (two greens and three reds) are all from a "my monthly HERO creativity in a box" kit from October 2015.</span><br />

<span style="font-size: large;">When I saw the "<a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/2017/05/blue-christmas.html">Blue Christmas</a>" challenge at <a href="http://jinglebellesrock.blogspot.com/">Jingle Belles</a>, I immediately thought of my blue mirror paper. I forgot that I used it all up a few months ago, except for a few strips. I did, however, have a little bit of this Magenta metallic fabric paper. I have saved it for years (17 years?) For more than a decade I have purchased decorative papers and specialty papers that I thought were pretty, then I found them too pretty to cut. Fortunately I no longer suffer from that; now I am all about using up stash.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I also have a S.A.B.L.E. (supplies available beyond life expectancy) amount of rub-ons. These rub-ons from Stampin' Up! adhered easily to the fabric paper. A quick and easy one-layer card.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;">Once again reorganizing my craft room has yielded a mixed-manufacturer card. I came across this bouquet die cut that I purchased nine years ago. I couldn't decide if I should keep it or toss it, but then I thought I should try to make a spring card with it. </span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">My stash yielded the plaid BoBunny papers from a retired Simon Says Stamp monthly card kit; I paired it with the Doodlebug green grid paper. I perused my doily dies, but I really wanted a 4" doily. I tried Wal-Mart, Michaels, JoAnn, and Hobby Lobby...no luck! I came home dejected, and a friend suggested I try amazon. Why not? I got 100 for just $3.77. Score! Okay, so maybe that is a lifetime supply, but I won't ever need to shop for them again :)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">Finally I added some Stampin' Up! So Saffron ribbon. It is so fun to pair different bits and bobs and come up with a sweet card.</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-size: large;">It is a rainy rainy day today, so I tried my best to get a decent picture of my Mother's Day card that I made for my mom and my grandmothers. It was not too difficult making three at a time; I used two sets of Taylored Expressions (Bloomers 5 and Mini Bloomers 2) once each on scraps of orange, pink, and yellow card stock...a great way to use up scraps. I used my mini glue dots to layer. T</span><span style="font-size: large;">he leafy vines are</span><span style="font-size: large;"> Taylored Expressions Bloomers Greenery and the pitcher and vase die is also by Taylored Expressions (so versatile!)</span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-size: large;">I used the "vase" die on pale blue vellum and a My Favorite Things oval die beneath the pitcher. I cut the pitcher from white </span><span style="font-size: large;">card stock</span><span style="font-size: large;"> (twice per card) and once (per card) from white fun foam. I glued them together, adding sequins and acetate to create a shaker card. My sentiment is from Stampin' Up!</span><br />
