My sweet blog friend, Kristie, stamped and sent this Magnolia image for me. This is a well-traveled cupcake! All the way to the U.S. from the land down under. Kristie also totally enabled me to buy this ribbon she used on her card here. I was also inspired by blog friend Leslie, who was showing some of her lovely cross-stitch pictures on her blog here.
My supplies:
Stampin' Up!: Candy Lane dsp; Real Red & Pretty in Pink markers; Riding Hood Red taffeta ribbon; Chocolate Chip & Pink Pirouette card stock; paper piercing template; dimensionals
Bic Mark it pen: brown
DMC floss: #898
Diamond Glaze: (on hearts)
Stickles: (on frosting)
Nestibilities: Labels Two
I used Julee's Mojo Monday sketch Week #96. I also was inspired by Use It challenge #20. Here are the Use It guidelines:
1. An unusual item (my DMC floss). I have not used this floss in years; 20+ years ago I was into teddy bears. I cross-stitched pictures, pillows, etc. with brown teddy bears. They are all stashed in a closet somewhere...
2. One stamp (check that off!)
3. One die cut or embellishment
This is a cross-stitch afghan I made that is in dd's bedroom. I made this before they were born.
Happy Sunday!

Beautiful needlework and making this probably took many hours of patience! These are heirlooms that will hold dear to everyone's heart for years to come.
Fabulous work, and you are inspiring me to pick up my needlework again. Love the cupcake card too; you're the best!

Beautiful card! I love the stitching on the side.
Your cross stitching pieces are gorgeous!! I miss cross stitching. Once I had kids, just couldn't find the time. Kudos to you for finishing it.
What a beautiful card! Thank you so much for visiting and leaving such a nice comment on my blog -- I really appreciate it! And you're on the DT for the Cuttlebug Challenges -- I have really been wanting to play along with that! My Cuttlebug is pretty much my best friend. :)
What a sweet cupcake card. The ribbon is simply perfect! That stitching must have taken quite some time :)

LOVE the card. I will need to, um, *borrow* that idea to stitch down the sides! Beautiful!
And your cross stitch is wonderful! Thanks for sharing that!
(And thanks for the shout-out. :-))
I am so glad I inspired you for the Mojo sketch! I thought make it easy and find paper with lines!! LOL Yours rocks by the way!
WOW!!! This card is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!
I just love the way you've stitched down the sides to match the pattern on the paper. And your cupcake looks delicious with the glitter and the ribbon matching the real ribbon. The whole thing is just perfect ♥
As for your cross stitch...that is incredible!!! I used to do it too...but not on that scale (I do not have the patience to work on one thing for that long!). The girls will always treasure those pieces...it's clear how much love went into them :)
Excellent work June,
I love the color combo and how you matched your stitching with the pp. Also the ribbon. What a beautiful card.
Such a beautiful card June! Love the stickles on the cupcake! Also, your cross stich is amazing, what a lovely family heirloom! :-)
Gorgeous card for Chrissie June, I didn't know it was her birthday, I'll pop over and leave her a belated wish. Love that cupcake, and it feels good to create when you've had a break, I know how that is. Love your baby Afghan and picture. My Son James has a similar Tigger and friends cross stitch picture that I made for his room when he was a baby and although it's no longer on the wall he still keeps it, bless! I used to love cross stitch too but haven't done any for years like you. The floss does come in handy though :) Chris
The card is so beautiful June, this is perfect! Love teh colors... I wish you a happy day... Big hugs my friend!
This card is beautiful! Love the stitching!
Gorgeous card and your handwork is amazing! I have some x-stitch and embroidery pieces that I made years ago hanging around my house... or packed away somewhere.
Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving me some love. ;)
Hi June, I love your beautiful cross-stitch projects (not surprised they took so long!) and your cupcake card is so yummy. Love the way you've matched up the stamped ribbon with the real ribbon.
And thanks for dropping by my blog!
