Crafty Secrets & embossed flowers

My husband & I have been very fortunate to take some very nice trips while we both were young and B.G. (before girls). Doug asked me 6 or 7 years ago if I would scrapbook a few pictures of each of our trips (mental groan from me.) I asked him if he could help me recall them, and he started documenting them on his computer (you think you can remember them all, but it can get fuzzy!) At that time I began taking Ziploc freezer bags for the brochures & ticket stubs, etc. from each excursion. I like the freezer bags because #1 they are more durable and #2 they have a white rectangle on the front for easy labeling! I also purchased an Iris 12x12 craft container to house these Ziploc bags.

Since Cuttlebug Challenges started Cuttle Your Pages Fridays, I have had a chance to start some scrapbook albums. So far I have only worked on my own heritage album of me and my ancestors. This week Crafty Secrets is sponsoring Cuttlebug Challenge blog. I thought their Creative Scraps "Travel" items would be a great way to start the travel scrapbook dh asked for so long ago. This is my cover page at the front of the album. I chose a picture from our honeymoon in Maui and a few from our Europe trip on our 5th anniversary. We were the youngest couple on that European trip (we were only 29yo); all of the other couples were in their 60s & 70s. Many had difficulty with all of the walking and steps, so dh & I were especially glad we could enjoy the trip without aching knees! Now that my cover page is complete, I can start creating 2 page LOs of each excursion we have taken over the years.

This week's Cuttle Your Pages featured technique is to emboss your flowers. I placed my prima flowers in my Cuttlebug Script embossing folder, then I spritzed them with Tattered Angels glimmer mist. They look really good IRL! All of the papers used are by Outdoors & More. For documentation I used my DYMO...this was inspired by LFL (lovely friend Lauren). Thanks, L!!!

Just love to travel and I can't wait to get DH overseas...we do alot in the States but noting abroad yet for him. I so agree with you...that we need to be young enough to actually enjoy it. My sister does alot of cruise ships and is always trying to get us to go...but all the European ones are full of retired and elderly and that is not for us. Heck, that's why we sold our vacation home in Pawley's Island because it turned into snowcap ville...lol
