Welcome, Springtime in Paris

Amore! Last weekend my cousin Scott treated me to dinner in a romantic restaurant in the mountains 8,000ft above sea level. There was a gorgeous view of the snow covered mountains overlooking Salt Lake City, Utah. This paper doily was under my cup of soup. I snatched mine (and Scott's) and carefully placed them in my purse to recycle for a card.

BasicGrey Challenges current challenge is "Recycled." I had these BasicGrey 6x6 Wisteria papers on my workspace for months; I just couldn't make a card come together. Today I challenged myself to make a card with those chosen papers.

Then I went in search of a sketch for inspiration. I found a "Sketch and Sparkle" challenge at The Pixie Cottage:
I used a SU gem brad for my sparkle (dot of the "i" in "Paris.")

And the inspiration did not end there...
Order of the Opus Gluei challenge is "Springtime in Paris"
Paper Cutz challenge is "Use 3 Patterned Papers"
Die Cuttin Divas challenge is "Spring is on the Way"

I recently purchased a Cricut cartridge called "Summer in Paris." I used that cartridge for the first time today to cut both the Eiffel Tower and "Paris" from two different BG papers. I used a spring floral BG paper as the background.

Ooh, la, la. This card is wonderful. I applaud you for using those gorgeous soup doilies. (I totally would have done the same thing.) Thanks so much for playing with us this week at OPUS GLUEI.

Well, didn't you just rock this Frenchy card??? How stinkin cool that you grabbed the doilies, I would have too; hubby, the kids, and I were constantly bogarting drink coasters from every restaurant we frequented - I have only about a gazillion!

OMG - I think we are somehow related - I used the same doily (yes, I got it from a sweet little restaurant we found on vacation) from my recycle box for one of my cards!

Your card is so beautiful, so elegant - tres chic!!!

Thanks so much for participating with us at Opus Gluei!

Great way to recycle. Isn't it funny...when you're a papercrafter you tend to look at things and say "I could use that on a creation". Well done. Thanks for playing along at Paper Cutz.

speaking of "ENABLAGE"...you KNOW you're making me want a cricut every single time you do anything with any of the "french" themed cartridges right?! (at least that is what i'll tell LHJ when i finally snap and "impulse buy" a machine!!!!!!!!)

this is spectacular...even better to know that is a doily from the restaurant...lucky y'all are NEAT SOUP EATERS!!!!!! :)
