This week's challenge at Jingle Belles: Recycle, Re-use, and Jingle!
This is a crazy Christmas card. I have spent the past two days staring at my stash trying to come up with SOMETHING. Anything. (There was lots of staring-at-my-stash time spent!)
Then I saw this paint chip from Home Depot. I recycled the paint chip and I re-used this ribbon rescued off of a package. My base card is salvage from a previous Jingle Belles challenge; I meant to emboss the entire card with snowflakes but for some reason I left the top left un-embossed. I don't know what I was thinking. I found some old old Sandylion stickers that I had never opened, and the "Brrrr" fit perfectly in the bare space. I added the felt snowflakes from Michael's and the computer-generated sentiment. It still felt unfinished, so I asked my friend Court what it needed; it was she that suggested the ribbon. Now it seems complete.

HOW MUCH do i looooooveeeeee this idea??! hint: ALMOST as much as i love the cardmaker, which is saying something!!! you are BRILLIANT, and court is too, b/c OF COURSE it wouldn't have been the same card w/o the ribbon but i'm not sure i'd've thunk of it, either! :) three cheers for you, missus!!! ♥♥♥!
brilliant - i LOVE this; i'm kind of tired of the paint chip thing - i'll even admit i threw away two last week - but this is much better than most, and now i may have to go digging through my bin :)
Great idea of using up bits and pieces
Oh my sweet heavenly moses!! This is wonderful! I've used paint chips too, love 'em, especially the ones of Mickey's head. Loooooooove the play on words with blue without you!! Thank you for all the awesomest comments ever on my blog...I appreciate you SO much!! *mwah*
Absolutely ADORE the paint chip idea!! Now I want to make squillions of paint chip cards in a massive array of colors!!! Ok, maybe a few...not squillions. ;)
THIS IS FAB-U-LOUS, June!!! ♥
Thats great! I love those paint card chip color things. Found and used all kinds of stuff from your stock. Awesome! Love the card. The snowflake is perfect.
Fabulous card and SUCH a great idea to use the paint chips! Thanks for the shout out but it was all you!
i will never look at paint chips the same again!! AWESOME card girl :)
I would have to agree ... the ribbon is the perfect finishing touch ... my Mom would adore this card (and I adore it too) ... so glad you celebrated Earth Day with the jingle belles.
You used the paint chip perfectly! I used to work in the paint dept and would bring those chips home to somehow incorporate into my cards, but never did. You found the perfect way to do it. I love all of it...the ribbon, the embossing, the sentiment...just perfect!
Oh my goodness.. This is so cute. I love how you came up with the Paint chip from HD.. Very clever girly..
Hope you are having an awesome week..
Hugs, Linda
It's so good to hear that others had brain ache too from this challenge! But I love what you did here - that space for the "Brrr" looks like such a design feature - funny to hear that you didn't mean to do that (makes me feel better about all the little things that I do!) love it :-)
Ribbon - well, duh. :)
I gave away my hoarded 20 lbs of paint chips, as I could never get them to look right. But YOU - YOUUUUU - have succeeded. Nice job!
What a cool card June! Love the idea of using the paint chip, this came together beautifully :)
Oh June - this card is sooo cool!! I collected a bunch of these paint chips once and never ended up doing anything with them. You have inspired me to dig them out!! I love the embossing, too :)

June, this is brilliant!!! I just love that you used the pain sample and tied it in with a Blue Chirstmas. Fabulous!!!!!
i know you already heard this before but they say there are no mistakes but opportunities to embellish---or something like it, lol
and your fab project is an example :)
Now this is a great idea! Combining something old and something new!
I like your choice in paint (chips). The blues are beautiful and such a great sentiment you've come up with - perfecto!
i already miss X-mas! beautiful card!
