Happy & Scrappy birthday cards

Inspiration comes from various places. My cards today came together so quickly! I was inspired to create by my friend, Heather (via chat on Facebook). I perused my current PaperCrafts magazine (March/April 2010) and saw a card on page 49 by Winter Sims. She made a "Mr. & Mrs." wedding card using a black/gray/white striped dp (designer paper). I pulled out my "black & white" dp scraps. I had just this tiny rectangle of "happy birthday" (computer generated) and the numbers dp. I used my new EK Success border punch and my new SU ribbon. The gems are by Hero Arts. Such a quick and simple card. I want to make more, but laundry beckons...

Love these cards, June! Of course, you know I'm drooling over the ribbon but I also love the "frame" you drew around the card and the pretty jewels you added! Super work, sweetie! ♥♥ Kay

How stylish is this? The polka dot ribbon with the black and white colors makes this a smashing card.

Seriously stylish, June! I especially love the numbers card, although these days, I try to forget about numbers on my birthday. :)

oh ♥WOW♥!!! ok, first off, these are just downright awesome any way you look at it! the combination of papers & ribbon & scallops & gems...totally add up to perfection! this might be the best use of scraps ever!!!

aside from the brilliant cards themselves, i love the multiple points of inspiration! to me, that's an example of the IDEAL of an online/in print crafty community--where you can take a little from here and a little from there but it adds up to something completely NEW! that SO rocks!!! ♥♥♥
