Visions of Sugarplums

This week's challenge at Jingle Belles is by Amanda Profumo.  This did not turn out anything like I had envisioned in my head.  I originally planned to pop up the Cricut-cut snowflakes on the bottom half of my card and put purple gems in the center.  The gems matched the ribbon I was going to place horizontally across my card and the bit of scrapook paper, but the gems and ribbon clashed with my Bazzil plum card stock.  This was a challenge to make, but I do love challenges.  I used this delightful sketch from Artful Delight:
One more Christmas card to add to my growing stack!  The scrapbook paper scraps are from leftover from these gifts seen here.

Supplies:
Cricut cartridge:  Accent Essentials page 44, keypad #13
Embossing border:  by Provo Craft
rub-ons:  by SU!
sentiment & scrapbook paper:  Carol Wilson Fine Arts, Inc.

Happy Monday!

I love the colors you used for this Christmas card. I wish I could get mine started, but I just can't think Christmas in May :-)

June, I love your card! You may have been challenged, and the card didn't turn out how you planned, but it is adorable!
I love your embossed background and the square with the sentiment is perfect! I also love the deep plum color you used. A CAS card... exactly my style!

It turned out beautiful, June. Isn't it funny how sometimes you start out with a plan and it all goes haywire, but you end up with something even better than you first thought. LOVELY!!!

This is so elegant and classy - I love the embossing and the rich plum you chose, I was challenged by this one theme as well and was trying very hard to only use what I already had. Your interpretation is lovely!

This card is great! Not your traditional Christmas colors and I love that about it. Just goes to show you, it doesn't have to be red and green!

well, i can relate to the feeling of having a card NOT come out, but sometimes the "variation" is EVEN COOLER than the thing we intended in the first place... and i'm prettttttttty sure this is one o'those times!!! LOVE this: love the texture, the colors, the placement of the sketch... the WHOLE SHEBANG!!! <3
