BasicGrey Lime Rickey: Doodling Challenge

NEWS FLASH from BasicGrey Challenges:
"This week we would love to see some doodling on your creations, this can be any type of doodling you can think of so let your imaginations run wild :), but please remember to use at least 1 item from BasicGrey somewhere on your creations :)

Now please remember that we will be closing the blog down next week to completely update and re - vamp it, so this will be the last challenge here on BasicGrey challenges as you know it :), we wont be able to announce here when we will be re - opening so keep an eye on the DT blogs for the news :)"

I can't wait to see what the updated blog will look like! I will post about the grand re-opening as soon as I know the details. Is there anything more fun than working with BasicGrey products? Nah ;)

For my card I used all Lime Rickey papers from the 6x6 pad. I was inspired by LFL (lovely friend Lauren) again :) I drew the chipboard tree from looking at a tree Lauren has on her blog banner. I cut it out the tree with scissors. I do not recommend hand cutting chipboard. It would be much easier if I could have found a manufactured chipboard tree! My hand became very sore. I also had to sand down the edges (very messy). Then I found some acrylic paint to paint my tree and my little bird (Stampin' Up!). I doodled the dots around his eye, around the tree "leaves", I added faux stitching around the card and chipboard tree. The sentiment is a BasicGrey Lime Rickey rub-on. The tree leaves still seemed a little flat, so I add some Stampin' Up! dimensionals behind the edges of them.

It was definitely worth struggling with the chipboard and scissors I think it's really great. The papers you've chosen really design compliments the design

oof--i've got my own 3 letter acronym now! coooooooooool! :)

chipboard & scissors? YIKES, you ARE brave! this is why so much of my stuff is stock weight paper popped on foam tape...BUT...having said that...the painted chipboard TOTALLY gives it a dimension and weight you just CANNOT achieve with paper, so i have to say it's TOTALLY worth the effort! ♥LOVE♥ this card...a really lot, actually! ♥

(ps: can ya gimme a shout when the BG challenges come back? i really wanna do some of those--you've made them look SOOOOO fun!!!)

Gorgeous card June - love it!! So much work and effort - you must be mad cutting out chipboard by hand (lol)
I thought I'd commented here once - but am having problems leaving comments at the moments and when I check they are not there - floating around in cyber space no doubt.
