Julee Tilman Jingles - Stars and Stripes Forever

Julee Tilman is one of my favorite card makers.  She also is a terrific sketch designer, though I have not participated in a Mojo Monday challenge in a very long time.  I wanted to combine Julee's sketch with one of my other favorite challenge blogs, Jingle Belles:
To celebrate Independence Day here in the U.S., the challenge at Jingle Belles this week is to use stars OR stripes.  I cut a blue star and my "stripes" are the lines on my journaling block (does that count?) I used a small zig-zag stitch on the paper seam using my sewing machine (click picture to see better.)

My dh & I are back from our Alaska vacation to celebrate our 20th anniversary.  This was a trip of a lifetime.  We had so much fun, and we are happy to be back home with our sweet girls.  Today I was thrilled to have a little time to play in my craft room to make this card.

Supplies:
Cricut Cartridge:  "Birthday Bash" p.24 cut at 1.5"
Papers:  My Mind's Eye "Colorful Christmas" and "Abbey Road"; doodlebug design inc. "all wrapped up" and "winter wonderland" and "cute cuts"; October Afternoon "Modern Homemaker"; Bazzill bling (white snowflake).
Sentiment:  Making Memories "christmas 4" rub-ons
Bling:  unknown
foam tape:  SU! dimensionals

Have a safe and happy 4th of July!

HAHA! We are totally on the same page with this one! I love the colors you chose.

Secret: I punched holes in my panel with the intention of hand-sewing on the card front (too lazy to change the bobbin in my sewing machine) and I poked them wrong, so that green strip on mine is to cover the holes. ;) I love stamping saves.

Oh, and yes, the journal lines are definitely stripes. Definitely. :)

Glad to hear you had a GREAT trip! Happy Anniversary!

Wow a head start on Christmas! You'll have to tell me about Alaska, I want to cruise there too! We had a great time on our 25th Anniversary cruise to mexico. Glad to be home and crafting again though. I was having withdrawal's!
