Make a wish!

I created this card completely from the Birthday Doodles stamps  sold exclusively at Shop Pumpkin Spice.  There are only three left in stock and then they will be gone forever.

The colored Bazzill card stocks are already embossed.  I punched various circles, then used my Xyron to adhere randomly to the white card stock layer.  I embossed the layer with D'Vine Swirls by Cuttlebug.  The cupcake is stamped and fussy cut with some glossy accents.  The ovals are Spellbinders dies.  I added some twine from my stash and fussy cut a tag shape around the "make a wish" sentiment.  Lastly I added some glossy accents to the icing and candle.  This was not a quick card to make, but it was lots of fun!

Supplies:
papers:  Bazzill card stock (smooth white and embossed colors)
stamps:  Birthday Doodles
embossing folder:  Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls
oval dies:  Spellbinders
twine:  Doodlebug
glossy accents

Teachers make the little ones count

My twin girls started middle school and the adjustment has been more difficult for both of them than I imagined.  Each day has gotten better.  I am so grateful to the teachers for communicating with us daily (sometimes twice daily!)

I created this card for my daughters to give to their case manager.  He is working so hard to ensure that the girls' needs are met and that they each have a pleasant middle school experience.  All of this makes me miss teaching all the more (I taught for middle and high school math ~15 years before my twins were born.)  Teachers rock.

I started with my MME "School Daze" 6x6 but then thought it might be fun to mix with my Glitz Design "Yours Truly" 6x6.  What do you think?  I pushed different papers around, layering the way I wanted.  Then I went in search of a sketch.  I think this one is a keeper:

This is Seize the Sketch challenge 4; I took a few liberties with the layering with both the "star" and scalloped piece, but I think I kept the integrity of the sketch.

I am also entering this at Pumpkin Spice:  Primary Colors challenge.

Supplies:
paper:  Glitz Design "Yours Truly" 6x6; My Mind's Eye "School Daze" 6x6
black gems:  Imaginisce i-rock hot rocks
scalloped border:  Stampin' Up! slot punch

I Adore You, BasicGrey Clippings

It's my turn up on the Pumpkin Spice blog today.  I played with my BasicGrey "Clippings" papers, even adding a couple of office supplies...a small paper clip and a real staple!  The glazed brad and "I adore you" tag are from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Two Rosy Ordinary.  The ric-rac die is by Papertrey Ink.  A quick masculine card.

There is still time to enter this week's challenge at Shop Pumpkin Spice...the theme is "work."  I used a staple and a small paper clip on my card to fit in with the theme.  I can't wait to see what YOU create!  Link your "work" here.

I am also entering my card at BasicGrey challenges "Anything Goes" challenge.

Happy Tuesday!

Work Hop

Welcome to the monthly Shop Pumpkin Spice blog hop!  You should have arrived here from sweet Missy, the first stop in the hop.

We hope you will join in our challenge; the theme is WORK.  How will you interpret it?  As a former teacher I was thinking cork (bulletin board), chalkboard technique, and paper clips or staples for my card.  But I was perusing my Shop Pumpkin Spice store purchases, and I saw this chipboard file folder tab and I decided on a file folder for my main image.

The chipboard is on sale for just $2.51
Here are some other peeks at cards
I have made with the chipboard:

Supplies:
paper:  My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Two Blush "Sweet" Eiffel paper and Bouquet paper; "Favorite" Dance paper
chipboard:  MME Blush "Better" chipboard stickers
inks:  Tim Holtz distress inks; worn lipstick and vintage photo

Your next hop stop is sweet Saundra

This is my take on the Labor Day challenge at Cut It Up:
celebrate a pregnancy or a new baby
and

The Craftin' Desert Diva's linky party ends September 15th.
The Cut It Up challenge ends September 18th.
The prize?  A $20 gift card to Too Cute by Jessica
Don't forget to use a die cut somewhere on your creation.  My umbrella is a Cricut cut from "Cake Basics" and my postage shape card is cut from "Birthday Bash."

Supplies:
Cricut cartridges:  Birthday Bash (card cut @ 5 1/4") and Cake Basics (umbrella cut at 3")
stamps:  My Pink Stamper "Handle with Care" and "Sweet Baby"
paper:  My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Two "Sunshine" Adore, Forever Classified, Lovely Plaid, Two of Us Lovely
cloud punches:  Fiskars
stickers:  My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Two Sunshine "Lovely" layered stickers
burlap:  My Mind's Eye
I am most proud of my burlap clouds!  I used my Xyron on a strip of kraft card stock and laid a burlap strip on the sticky side.  On the kraft side I glued two punched clouds (Fiskars punches) and fussy cut my clouds.  Cool, right?  A happy craft moment :)

Happy Friday!

Back to the Blackboard challenge

After a month long celebration for Neat and Tangled's first birthday, Little Tangles has a new challenge this fortnight:
Will you join us?  Get out your white pigment ink and black card stock and have fun!  I used two different stamp sets:
Santa's Notes (curly frame)
 and
Tip:  I could have masked the "naughty/nice/undecided", but I am not very good at masking.  I actually used my Xacto knife and Tim Holtz scissors to cut out an inner rectangle inside the frame.  I used to cringe at the thought of cutting my stamps, but they fit back together perfectly on the acrylic block if I want to use them as they are originally drawn.
Supplies:
stamp sets:  Neat and Tangled "Santa's Notes" and "Just Thinking of You"
papers:  My Mind's Eye "Miss Caroline" Fiddlesticks 6x6
brad:  My Mind's Eye "Stella and Rose" Hattie Happy
ink:  Stampin' Up!

Chalk it up!  I hope to see you at Little Tangles :)
