Cut It Up - Summer Vacation challenge

A few months ago I finally finished scrapbooking my girls from 2005.  It is my sincere hope that I will finish 2006 this year too by using fun challenges as inspiration.  I am not worried about getting it done chronologically, because getting a layout completed is more important than the order.

The new challenge is up at Cut It Up:  Summer Vacation.  I found some summer time pictures (June 2006) to fit the theme.  Die cuts used:  Cricut "Create A Critter 2" p.64 (large corn-on-the-cob); Cricut "Straight From the Nest" p.75 (summer); Cricut "Artbooking" p.53 (fun); Stampin' Up! Framelits dies "Cannery Set" (small corn-on-the-cob).

There are two sponsors with terrific prize packages:
win 3 colors of Trendy Twine

This is what I did with one color of the
Trendy Twine from the prize package:
I used my white gel pen on the larger die cut (below) to coordinate with the Stampin' Up! corn-on-the cob stamp set; I also embossed the "corn" with Cuttlebug "Houndstooth."
The second prize package are card making goodies from Leeanne of Artful Delight fame.  Leeanne creates the most fabulous prize packages, in my humble opinion.  I hope you win!  Create a summer vacation card, layout, or project and link up at Cut It Up.

You have until June 11th to enter.
Happy Friday!

SRM Stickers Design Team Call

This is a friendly reminder that SRM Stickers has a design team call; the deadline to enter is May 30, 2014 at midnight PST.  If you enjoy working with vinyl, doilies, twine, calendars, packaging, containers and quality stickers, then you won't want to miss this opportunity.  SRM Stickers has a wide variety of products for very occasion.  The design team term is July 1, 2014 - June 30, 2015.

SRM glassine bags emboss beautifully and the SRM Stickers adhere perfectly to them also.  My husband has a large family and SRM Sticker sheets make it easy for me to do a little mass-production when I need to, but I can also create one-of-a-kind gifts if I choose.  This will go to one of the college graduates this year:

The remainder of this post contains some of my
favorite projects I have made using SRM stickers.

Cards

The "Stickers by the Dozen" Thank You sheet is one of my all-time favorites.  I used some of those daisies to make both the card set and the single card above.  The sentiments and zig-zag stitches (card set) and the red-stripe scallop border are all from "We've Got Your Border" Bright.

Teacher gifts:  wrapped Hershey bars
All of these "Thank You" sentiments on the Hershey bar wrappers also came from the  "Stickers by the Dozen" Thank You sheet.
There are also sheets of pretty labels "Labels by the Dozen" Bright Blank.  I have found a great use for my old rub-on sentiments.  Rub-ons work wonderfully on SRM labels!  No curling or flaking off.  I love that :)

Cards and a cupcake box
I also used a label for my focal image (below) from the "Labels by the Dozen" Valentine sheet.  I die cut the "u" from card stock and glued it on the label; it adhered beautifully.  No sliding and leaving glue streaks!

On the cupcake box (below) I used the pennants from "We've Got Your Border" Bright and the blue striped label is from "Labels By The Dozen" Bright Blank.  The birthday sentiments are both rub-on; see how nicely they work on SRM Stickers?  For my card I used the "happy day" sentiment which is also on "We've Got Your Border" Bright.

Vinyl
I am primarily a card maker but I also enjoy making teacher gifts; but I would be remiss if I did not remind you that SRM Stickers also has a plethora of color choices in vinyl in three finishes: matte, glossy, and glitter!
I made this plaque for my husband using vinyl and my Cricut.

I am applying for the SRM design team and I hope you will too.  SRM products have become my go-to crafty supplies when I need to create a card for any occasion:  baby, birthday, graduation, thank you, etc.  The design team call details can be found here.

Wish me luck.  Happy Thursday!

National Bike Month challenge

There is another fun challenge this fortnight at Cut It Up:

And two sponsors with prizes to be won:

Fleurette Bloom - $10 gift card
and
The Robin's Nest - sample of papers

For your chance to win create a card inspired by National Bike Month, include at least one die cut, and link up at Cut It Up challenges.
Both my sun and my clouds are Cricut die cuts.  The bike is an Echo Park "Paradise Beach" sticker.  The sentiment is from the "Spiffy Scooters" set by Paper Smooches.  My papers are by Simple Stories.  Die cuts:  sun "Create A Critter" p.52 and clouds "Nate's ABCs" p.50.  I used a border punch for the grass (does not count as a die cut in the challenge.)

I hope the weather is nice where you are and you can get out and ride your bike, but first play along with us at Cut It Up!  You have until May 28th to play along.

Birthdays Challenge at The SRM Challenge blog

Thank you to all who were able to participate in the April challenge at The SRM Challenge.  It is the first Friday of the month, so it is time to announce the May challenge:  Birthdays!
To be eligible to win the SRM prizes, you must at least one SRM product somewhere on your project.  Don't have any SRM goodies in your stash yet?  You can go to the SRM store and choose "Postage stamp" option for shipping...just $2.50 for certain items!

On the cupcake box I used the pennants from "We've Got Your Border" Bright and the blue striped label is from "Labels By The Dozen" Bright Blank.  The birthday sentiment is a rub-on; I found that rub-ons work beautifully on SRM label stickers.  For my card I used the "happy day" sentiment which is also on "We've Got Your Border" Bright.  The candles and sentiment are rub-ons too.

I hope you to see you link up your SRM birthday project at The SRM Challenge.

Happy Friday!
