Hoppy Easter cards

Happy (hoppy) Easter!  I forgot to take pictures of my Easter cards that I made for my grandmothers, but I also created these from the scraps...and I think I like these two even better than the ones I sent.  The top card is really busy, but I think I like it.  I will be saving these for next year.

I used Doodlebug "Hello Spring" papers for the background/background frame, a retired My Pink Stamper sentiment, and two Cricut cartridges:  Creative Cards and Create A Critter 2.

Happy Sunday!  May you get all the chocolate you desire today :)

I hope to see your SRM celebrations creation linked up...

Birthday Card Challenge at Cut It Up

We are creating birthday cards this fortnight at Cut It Up challenge blog.  I chose to use store-bought die cuts for my card (manual and machine cuts are also allowed at Cut It Up.)  The journaling shape and the five balloons are both Kaisercraft dies; the cloud papers and paper strips are also by Kaisercraft.  These are all from the "Save the Date" collection from 2012.  I added some white floss for the balloon strings and cut words from one of the papers in the collection for the journaling block.
There are two sponsors for this challenge;
enter for a chance to win:

May Arts Ribbon trio from Sparkly Sweet Craft Notions by Beckie

and

a $15 store credit at ScrappyDew
You have until April 30, 2014 to link up your birthday cards.  See you at Cut It Up...

Happy Friday!

Making Memories cards

Two weeks ago I posted pictures of my craft room and a couple of my problem areas that accumulate piles.  I anticipated that I could re-organize that stash on the floor in that back corner in 30 minutes or less.  It ended up taking all of my spare time both Thursday and Friday that week because it spurred me to also re-organize a couple of other areas too.  The back corner stash is 20% of what was there, so I am calling that a WIN!  My goal is to have nothing there, but I am content with the progress.  The most time-consuming part was breaking up my beloved Artful Delight kits and sorting the embellishments to other storage containers in my craft room (baker's twine, seam binding, primas,  etc. where they are already stored elsewhere.)

Another success from that clean up was the discovery of an old scrapbook kit from when I taught classes at a local scrapbook store.  I had partially made the Easter layout quite a while ago, but I was able to complete it with pictures for the current challenge at Cut It Up!  The final discovery was these checkerboard papers, ribbons, colored card stock pieces, and text on white card stock to create a photo mat for a layout.  I think this was actually from the first scrapbook kit I ever purchased (June 2003!)  I created these three cards from those scraps...another WIN!  The card above is a birthday card for my friend Kaye, who was with me the day I purchased that kit.  I think she will get a kick out of the really old stash (the 3 felt gem flowers are newer...from those Artful Delight kits that I broke up.)  The papers are all Making Memories except for the green Bazzill card stock.  The sentiment are also Making Memories alpha stickers that I purchased in 2003.
The inspiration for this bunny card came from the lovely and talented Amy Tsuruta.  See Amy's bunny card here.  I am sending this Easter card to my friend Tracy, who taught classes and worked at that local scrapbook store also.  I know she will also get a kick out of these relics :)

My bunny is a Cricut cut from "Create A Critter 2" p.40.

Happy Tuesday!

Easter challenge at Cut It Up!

It's time for another challenge at Cut It Up and this fortnight we are focussing on Easter.
This was the perfect opportunity for me to  finish up this layout; all I needed was a die cut.  I cut the 10 eggs using my Cricut "Doodlecharms" cartridge (p.89 cut @ 3 3/4" real dial size.)  All of the papers are by Rusty Pickle.  The pictures are from Easter 2006.  Here is a closer look:
My sweet Julia

and my sweet Kathryn (and me!)

I hope you are inspired to create an Easter card, layout, or project.  Don't forget to use a die cut somewhere on your Easter project.  Perhaps you will create a new project or finish up an old one like me.  There are two prizes up for grabs:
a $10 gift card to Lovebug Creations
and
a $20 coupon code to Cute as a Button

I hope you will join in the fun!  The Easter challenge runs from April 4th-16th.
Happy Friday!

There's a new challenge coming soon! The SRM Challenge

The SRM Challenge is starting Friday, April 4, and I am pleased to announce that I was invited to be a part of this design team!  Each day this week members of the design team are being announced.  So far this week Danielle Robeson, Angi Barrs, Tori Holman, and Tenia Nelson have been introduced. Click over to The SRM Challenge to see who else will be announced today and tomorrow.

I created my little card from two different SRM Stickers collections:  Stickers by the Dozen "Thank You" (daisies) and We've Got Your Border "Bright" (sentiment and red stripe scallop border.)  These are two of my favorite SRM Stickers collections...in fact I only have four daisies left on my "Thank You" sheet!  I have already used all of the sentiments and eight daisies on these other projects:
Happy Wednesday!
