Nature challenge

   This week's challenge at Shop Pumpkin Spice is "Nature."  I usually think of flowers, then trees, then critters.

  My Echo Park "Sweet Day" collection needed some love, so I brought it out to play.  I went in search of a sketch and I found an oldie-but-goodie with this Cardabilities sketch #39:

Echo Park "This and That" - Mother's Day card

Mother's Day Glitz Design card

  I have made a goal for myself:  choose a paper and create as many card sets as I can from it.  I wanted to make mother's day cards for my grandmothers and I thought this toile pattern by Glitz Design would be lovely.  I was able to cut this scene four times from a single sheet of 12x12!  With the rising costs of shipping via the US postal service, I purposely created flat cards.  It seems so strange not to add some prima flowers, gems, brads, or lace but I do like the focus on the detail of the toile scene.

Feminine card from BasicGrey Lucille

  This has been a marvelous week!  I spent Sunday afternoon with my 5 year+ blog friend, Leslie Hanna...the crooked stamper herself.  And today I spent the day with Amy Sheffer catching up; we talked the entire time and did not craft anything.  I feel so fortunate to have such good (and crafty) friends.

  I wanted to try out my new "Lucille" BasicGrey 6x6 pad.  This collection will make terrific mother's day cards!  My ribbon is 8 or 9 years old, from Close to My Heart (CTMH).  The dark red Bazzill card stock and stamp are also old stash that I have had for a few years.

Cardabilities Challenge - Sketch #73

  This card is for my good friend, Lauren Bergold.  She and her husband LHJ (lovely husband Jeff) just moved into a new home earlier this month.  I am so happy for them both!  I immediately thought of Echo Park's "Life is Good" collection and the fun houses on the papers and stickers in that collection.  I love a good sketch, and Karan Gerber consistently creates lovely sketches for her fortnightly challenges at Cardabilities.  I chose to use sketch #73 for Lauren's housewarming card :)

A Chic Umbrella - feminine birthday card

   I've had this sentiment by The Cat's Pajamas and I have finally used it today!  I found the perfect reason too:  this current Pinspired Challenge:

I used both sides of My Mind's Eye Indie Chic Ginger "Pictures" Damask.  The 12x12 has amazing thickness and texture!  I like the sun pattern on the yellow side and the elegant pattern on the orange side.  The shimmery silver paper is from my stash and I punched the cloud from a scrap of vellum:
