The Challenge - Polka Dots

I created this quick and easy card for the Polka Dot challenge at The Challenge.  After my craft room purge, I have been creating like crazy!  I am having a blast playing with old favorites like these papers from BasicGrey "June Bug."  The hearts die and stitched rectangle dies (difficult to see on the dark navy card stock) are from Simon Says Stamp and the sentiment is by Stampin' Up.  I added glossy accents to my heart for interest.  This particular challenge was easy for me because I horde my polka dot papers (especially red with white dots...my favorite!)
Check out all of the cards at The Challenge...lots of great eye candy!

You mean the World to me

I have just scraps left from my 12x12 collection of Echo Park's "For the Record."  Before I throw the itty bitty scraps away, I wanted to see if I could eek out another card.  I was inspired by the current challenge over at Fusion Card Challenge.  I was inspired by the green, yellow, red, aqua in the photo as well as the wood shelf (earthy).  I fused those inspiring colors with the card sketch...fun!
Thanks to Fusion Card Challenge, I have a card ready for teacher appreciation week.

Happy Sunday!

Washi Tape "Thinking of You" card

I would consider my recent craft purge a success.  I donated two large boxes of supplies that I was no longer excited about.  Believe me, I still have a lot of supplies in my basement, craft closet, and craft room, but it is a little less crowded.

What is even more inspiring is that for the past week I have been crafting like crazy!  The purge helped me remember supplies I have bought, but forgot about.  Today I decided to open a trio of washi tapes that I think I purchased a couple of years ago, but never used.  During the purge I was also reminded of this fun vertical sentiment that I probably purchased in the late 1990s...and probably haven't used since then either ;)

What a fun coincidence that the current challenge at Shopping Our Stash is "Lost and Found."  A perfect pairing for my card.

Directions:  I added washi tapes to a 4.25x5.5 panel, stamped the sentiment, then ran through my stitched rectangle die, and adhered to a white card base.  Done!

A quick and easy masculine card.  I hope this post inspires YOU!

Happy Monday!

Little Tangles Sequins Challenge

Hi!  It has been a long time since I participated in a challenge.  I was inspired by the Sequins challenge at Little Tangles and this week I acquired a MISTI (Most Incredible Stamp Tool Invented) by My Sweet Petunia.  I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to play with some of my Neat and Tangled stamp sets and sequins.

I am in love with my MISTI!  She has a pink grid that helped me create the heart border (stamped three times across) and line up both the sentiment and chevron stripes perfectly.

Design tip:  I used "Frosted Lace" Stickles for my frosting, which made the die inks run, so next time I will emboss before adding the Stickles.

I used four different Neat and Tangled stamp sets; Sketchy Cupcakes, Kindness Matters (hearts), You + Me (circle), and Little Tangles.  My sequins came from Classic Christmas Mix and Winter Wonderland Mix.

Happy Sunday!

Funny Cards Die Cut Challenge

I gotta admit the "Funny Cards" challenge at Cut It Up had me stumped at first, but that is why they are called challenges, right?  I tried to channel my sweet friend, Leslie (aka The Crooked Stamper); Leslie is the queen of snarky cards...but to no avail.  Then I remembered a bunny card from a Stampin' Up stamp camp using circle and oval punches.  Since punches don't count as die cuts at Cut It Up, I found a fabulous frame die cut (tree paper and purple Bazzill) from the CTMH "Artbooking" cartridge (p.85) that I purchased from my favorite consultant, Evelyn.  Seeing the back side of the bunny gives me a chuckle, so I figured it works with the funny card theme.  All of my papers are Doodlebug "Hello Spring"; the sentiment stamp was borrowed from my bestie Tracy. The bunny tail was created using Flower Soft...it's not just for snow!

Easter Thank You

I am doing a major purge in my craft room.  Yesterday I came across this "Critters in the 'Burbs" stamp set by Lawn Fawn.  I just had to have this set!  I bought it a couple of years ago, never used it and promptly forgot about it.  My daughter's teacher assistant gave her lots of fun Easter gifts, so I wanted to create a thank you for her.  I thought this little bunny was adorable and perfect for this card occasion.  So much fun finding things I forgot I owned!  The two Cosmo Cricket patterned papers are scraps I also came across in my purge.

If you are near the Washington D.C. area, I am participating in a "Bargain Basement Bonanza" (craft supplies sale...priced to sell) on Saturday, April 11th.  Please e-mail me if you would like details.

Have a HOPPY Easter!

Kraft + Black + One other color Die Cut Challenge

It is my turn to choose a challenge theme at Cut It Up and I chose "Black+Kraft+One Other Color."  I hope this creative color challenge inspires you to create a card/layout/project; don't forget to include a die cut!

Now that the big snows are over and Spring is right around the corner, I am doing a major purge in my craft room.  I have not done a major purge in three years, so it is time to get rid of some of my supplies and make a little money to buy some more LOL!  If you are near the Washington D.C. area, I am participating in a "Bargain Basement Bonanza" (craft supplies sale...priced to sell) on Saturday, April 11th.  Please e-mail me if you would like details.

Currently my desk area is piled with odds and ends that inspire me and I don't want to part with.  The inspiration for my cloud card came from an idea on Pinterest and the papers on the top of the desk pile :)

Recipe:
Cricut cartridge "Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2" p.39 cut @ 1.5", then using the "flip" function cut at 1".  I embossed the smaller cut out cloud with Cuttlebug "Swiss Dots."  The sequins is from Neat and Tangled; sentiment is an Imaginisce "Snag 'em" stamp; the papers, floss and button were in my stash from a retired card kit.

Create your die cut project using kraft, black, and one other color and you could win a $15 gift certificate to Stinkin Cute!

Happy Friday!
