I'll be back soon!

Thank you to all who have stopped by the past few days and to those who were able to leave comments :)

I have been in sunny Florida since Friday afternoon. I am blogging on my laptop dh gave me for an early Mother's Day present. How great is he??? My father's funeral was Saturday...that was difficult...but the rest of the time I have been with my aunt and two cousins, my stepmother and siblings, my grandmother (aka "Memere"), and her siblings (my great aunts and great uncles). We are having a GREAT time being together. But I do miss dh and my cute girls :)

My great uncle Roger, in particular, is a TRIP! He is almost 90 years old and just got laid off from his job. He is NOT happy about it either. The company he worked for sent him to China three times this year because he is the only person who can fix machines from the 1970s that were purchased from them. Uncle Roger has entertained us with his WWII stories. He worked directly for Patton.

I am anxious to get home tomorrow night (Tuesday) and get back to papercrafting!

Oh, treasure these moments with the older generations of your family! From the voice of experience, someone should be recording all of these stories and writing them down. And take photos to go with them!!! By the time my parents' generation was swapping stories, all of the older generations were already past tense. ;-(

Hi June,

Your winning card is beautiful, and just as lovely as you are. I tried to post a comment numerous times via Caardvarks, but I got locked out. Tried at least five times. My computer would not allow me to get past the post a comment.

So glad you are enjoying the time with your dad's family, and we are looking forward to seeing more of your creations!

I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your father, hope you're doing okay. I had to leave a comment and tell how much I enjoyed your story about your Uncle Roger, that is so cool! My husband says we need to figure out what we can learn to fix so we'll be needed 50 years from now!

Well I was thinking about you June and this very sad occasion, you'll miss him so much I know, these times aren't easy of course but to catch up with all the relatives and have some smiles is a good salve! Your 90 yr old relative story cracked me up, how amazing is he! Hugs to you. Chris :)
